Bangalore: The Garden City of Bengaluru is in festive mood. Why not, after all it is the 88th birth anniversary of their hero, thespian late Dr Raj Kumar on Sunday.
Thousands of fans thronged Dr.Raj’s samadhi near Nandini layout. Rajkumar’s family members performed pooja at the samadhi early in the morning followed by mass feeding for fans.
Interestingly, several foreign nationals and people from other parts of the state were also seen at Dr. Raj’s samadhi. Hundreds of Annavru (as he is fondly called by his fans) fans and organisations formed by his fans organized cultural programmes across the city.
Garlanding Dr.Raj’s statues and distribution of sweet and meals was common sight in the city.
Government of Karnataka has organised an official programme to mark the occasion at Raveedra Kalakshetra at 6.30. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will inaugurate the programme. Minister for Kannada and Culture, Umashree and other delegates will preside over the programme.
