Bengaluru: The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) is likely to restart the massive demolition drive of illegal buildings on Rajakaluve from Tuesday, September 6.
BBMP had launched the massive demolition drive after heavy rains in July flooded low-lying areas and arterial roads, as the storm water drains blocked water flow and 2-3 lakes breached due to encroachments around them.
However, the much talked drive was stopped nearly a week before over dodged confusions and allegations that the plan had been mollified according to the mighty ones. It is learnt that the final script of demolition will be ready by Sunday and action will be taken on Tuesday as BBMP officials do not want to nullify the festive mood of people living under the demolition drive radar.
So far, 400 odd houses and business establishments are demolished, including in Puttenahalli last year. The house of actor Darshan and others are also marked for demolition, sources said.
