Bangalore: On Tuesday May 27 BBMP commissioner M Lakshminarayana suspended Dr Sangha Mitra, medical health officer, Shantinagar sub-division, for not ensuring garbage clearance in his jurisdiction. The BBMP official was suspended for negligence of duty pertaining to solid waste disposal.

He also sent back four BBMP engineers to their parent department, Public Works Department, on similar charges.

The move comes after city in-charge minster Ramalinga Reddy, who went on a surprise visit to BBMP’s East Zone. Dr Mitra was suspended for not clearing garbage in storm water drains and in other places.

Assistant engineers Mohan Kumar and Narasimha Murthy, assistant executive engineer Linganna, and executive engineer Narasimha Raju were sent back to PWD.
