
Bengaluru: The Vidhana Soudha police registered FIR under various section of IPC including 420, 177, and 149 against seven MLCs and one former MLC for cheating the government.
The FIRs have been registered based on a complaint lodged by RJH Ramanna, a resident of Rayachuru and as per the court direction.
According to the police sources, Ramanna moved to court against seven MLCs and a retired MLC for furnishing false bills to the BBMP. “Ramanna is the state president of Republican Party of India. This case was pertaining to 2016 BBMP mayor and deputy mayor election.
The said leaders furnished information that they are staying in the BBMP limits and got voting rights and also availed travel allowance by showing their visit to various places from the BBMP. It led to controversy,” said police.
