BBMP mayor-deputy mayor election postponed to October 1

Bengaluru: Following the implementation of the Moden Code of Conduct (MCC) for the by-election of 15 constituencies, the election for the BBMP Mayor and Deputy Mayor posts has been postponed to October 1.

Originally, the election for these posts was scheduled on September 27, but now, based on the suggestion of experts, the election has been postponed to October 1 by regional commissioner Harsha Gupta. The new date was finalised after taking permission from the election commission.

Meanwhile, on Monday both the BJP and the Congress held separate meetings to decide the party strategies. BJP leaders’ meeting was held at CM’s office Krishna while KPCC president Dinesh Gundurao held a meeting of the party corporators at the KPCC office.
