Bengaluru: Every day, the BBMP authorities seize a huge quantity of plastic materials in the city. So far, one of the major headaches faced by the BBMP has been the disposal of these confiscated plastic materials. Now, the BBMP has finally got a client to take all the plastic off their hands- the Kempegowda International Airport (KIA).

The KIA authorities are currently using plastic mixed bitumen for the construction of Terminal 2 and its connecting roads. As much as 50 kilometres of road work is in progress inside the airport, for which 50 tons of plastic is required.

For this purpose, the BBMP has agreed to supply 11 tons of seized plastic materials to the KIA.

On Monday, August 26, the first container, containing about five tons of seized plastic materials, was sent to the KIA and was flagged off by Mayor Gangambike.

Speaking on the occasion, she stated that this new initiative will help the BBMP find a solution to the plastic menace in the city.
