Bengaluru: JDS state unit has been further jolted by the possibilities of more MLAs jumping into the BJP fold. If sources are to be believed, on Tuesday night, as many as eight MLAs led by GT Devegowda met CM BS Yediyurappa and discussed the formalities of joining the BJP.
Among them, six MLAs were brought by BJP MLA Basanagouda Patil Yatnal in his SUV to Mysuru.
According to the sources, CM BSY is not interested in another by-election. Instead, he wants at least 3/4 of JDS MLAs to join the BJP by merging the entire JDS legislature party through a resolution approved by the speaker.
“BSY is now in touch with at least 19 JDS MLAs who are ready to shift their loyalties. It is just a matter of time,” explained a BJP leader.
