Bangalore : On the 13th day of Dharna (Hunger strike) held by former Chief Minister and KJP head B S Yeddyurappa against the State government scheme ‘Shaadi Bhagya’ limited only to Muslim women, the Bangalore police have issue a notice.
B S Yeddyurappa along with his party member, around Karnataka for the past several days have been demanding an extension of the “Shaadi Bhagya” scheme to all communities.
Referring to the same, B S Yeddyurappa held a hunger strike on October 31, he had eight days permission from the Bangalore Police, but as the protest is still continuing, the police have asked the KJP members to vacate the place.
On November 4, Yeddyurappa had announced extension of his dharna at the same place till November 24.
Under the pressure from the opposition party, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said, “The government was considering extending the “Shaadi Bhagya” scheme to all sections Below the Poverty Line.”
