Bengaluru: Medical Education minister Sharanprakash Patil has said that the Supreme Court verdict on the implementation of National Eligibility and Entrance Test (NEET) is awaited to have a clear view of seat matrix in medical colleges.

The State government had submitted a plea before the SC seeking an exemption from NEET for the current academic year. The hearing is scheduled for May 3.

Patil said that the SC making NEET compulsory came as a surprise.

There is lot of confusion regard appearing for both CET and NEET, so we have asked for an exemption, he added.

Patil informed that, seat matrix and fee structure would be looked into if NEET is implemented.
