Auto driver feted with good Samaritan award

Bangalore: Indresh G, the auto driver who rushed two seriously injured students to the nearest hospital for treatment, after the bomb blast near the BJP office in Malleswaram on April 17, was felicitated with the good Samaritan award by the Hosmat Hospital here on Tuesday.

Indresh, a native of Kollegal, has been an auto driver in the City since 2004.
After the bomb blast, when he saw the two girls – Rakshitha and Leesha – greviously injured, he rushed them to the K C General Hospital.

The Hosmat Hospital presented a cash prize of Rs 15,000, as part of the award. M A Saleem, Additional Commissioner (Traffic and Security) felicitated the auto driver with the award at his office.

He further said the award should help dispel the misconception that if one helps a victim on the street he would be harassed by the cops.
