Bangalore : The Congress high command which is busy finalizing the list of candidates for the next assembly elections was reportedly relying on intelligence wing reports after being fed up with groupism and threats of rebellion.
The Delhi leaders are exercising caution while selecting candidates this time, giving no room for confusion as the party is this time determined to come to power and is also hoping to cash in on the anti-incumbency wave in the state.
The committee led by former Goa CM Lusino Ferrairo will be finalizing the list of candidates for all the 224 constituencies after almost three day long deliberations.
Though the Congress leadership has almost finalized the list, the high command has decided to consider even the intelligence wing report before announcing the list.
Sources said the intelligence wing of the party will be tipping off regarding the prospects of candidates. It is now left to be seen how far this tactic would help the party.
