Bengaluru: A 32-year-old Army jawan, who had taken leave from his posting to perform the last rites of his father, allegedly killed himself after poisoning two of his minor daughters at his house in Hennur police limits on Wednesday.

The police have identified the deceased as Harish who was posted in Assam and had come home in July. He was expected to report back to duty on August 5.

On Tuesday, he called his daughters to his room. Later, his wife noticed that the door was locked. She alerted her neighbours who broke it open to find the children dead and Harish committed suicide by hanging himself.

The police found a note in the room. It stated that no one is responsible for this extreme step.

The Hennur police have taken up a case of murder and suicide.
