Bangalore : BJP sources have revealed that sitting MLA of Mahadevapura constituency and former minister Aravinda Limbavali was all likely to be appointed to the post of National General Secretary of the party. An announcement in this regard is expected shortly, the sources said.

The final decision is being taken at the National Executive Meeting of the party being held in Delhi. The General Secretary post has fallen vacant ever since its earlier incumbent Ananth Kumar became a Union Minister. In fact several leaders including Shobha Karandlaje, Vishweshwar Hegde Kageri and CT Ravi had vied for the plump post. But the BJP leadership has finalised the name of Limbavali  considering the fact that he was a leader of a prominent community and is also a good orator.

There is also information that Ananth Kumar himself had lobbied for R Ashok, Kageri and CT Ravi. However of them R Ashok had refused to make a foray into national politics. But Limbavali could make it courtesy the support of Railway Minister Sadananda Gowda and former CM Yeddyurappa.
