Bengaluru: Congress leader and former state minister M B Patil has slammed Union Minister of State for Finance, Anurag Thakur for his controversial statements against those protesting against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA).
It can be recalled that recently, Thakur stirred up controversy by urging the audience at an election rally in New Delhi, to shoot those protesting against the CAA. He was heard chanting “desh ke gaddaron ko”, to which the masses responded “goli maaro sa***n ko” (shoot the (expletive)).
A video of this had gone viral prompting the Election Commission to seek a report on the incident.
Responding to the incident, Patil said that Thakur is “unfit” to be a minister. “Anurag Thakur is unfit to be a minister. He does not know the law of our land,” the former Karnataka minister said on Tuesday, January 28.
