Bangalore : Anitha Kumaraswamy, the daughter in-law of JD(S) Supremo and former prime minister HD Deve Gowda and wife of former CM Kumaraswamy  is making news after  it has come to light that she was one of the tax defaulters of BBMP.

Anitha is facing the allegation that she  has not paid her taxes despite several notices from BBMP. According to one source, she owed about Rs 15,77,250 to the BBMP. It is  said she has not paid the tax on the building she owns at Mahadevapura, since the past three years.  Every time a notice was served, Anitha used to promise to pay the tax, but failed to keep up her word. Lately she has sought 15 days time for payment of tax, but has not paid it even after that. The BBMP has now reportedly served her another notice.

Now. with the issue making much news, Anitha has said she would soon clear the tax arrears. Though even  Bhavani Revanna, wife of HD Revanna  had not cleared her tax arrears, she has duly paid the tax no sooner media reports appeared in this regard.

There is a feeling that the BBMP may soon go bankrupt if  so called bigwigs failed to pay taxes.
