Bengaluru: The state Pre-University department has issued an order banning the use of laptops along with the smartphones inside the classroom.

According to the order issued by the department, both students and teachers are prohibited from taking smartphones and laptops into classrooms.

“This order has been issued in the academic interests of the students. This rule applies to all government, aided, and unaided colleges,” the order states.

According to the students, the ban on the use of smartphones is a good move. “But, I don’t know how laptops disrupt studies. Laptops have become an integral part of our learning system,” said Suhas Rao, a student from Bengaluru. “The department must keep this in mind,” he added.
