Bengaluru: State government on Wednesday tabled the Karnataka Advocates’ Welfare Fund (Amendment) Bill 2017 in the Legislative Assembly which seeks to enhance the annual membership fee for the Advocate Welfare Fund.

The bill provides for enhancing the annual membership fee from Rs 1,000 to Rs 2,000 for those who have completed 15 years of practice, it would be Rs 1,000 instead of the present Rs500 for those who have not completed 15 years of practice.

The bill also seeks to enhance the maximum amount payable towards medical relief from the present Rs 1 lakh to Rs 1.5 lakh.
