Bengaluru: Leader of the Opposition R Ashoka has stated that action would be taken against Prajwal Revanna, who is facing serious allegations of sexually abusing several women, even if he is elected from the Hassan Lok Sabha seat.
He alleged that Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is responsible for allowing Prajwal to escape; Prajwal is said to be abroad following the issue coming to the fore.
He charged that the state government acted late in this case and was demanding the government to take action against HD Revanna and Prajwal. Ashoka said that Prajwal’s issue won’t affect the image of BJP, as he contested the election on a JD(S) symbol.
He also said that they would take stringent action against Prajwal if the BJP wins a majority of the seats in the state.
The Special Investigation Team arrested former minister and JD(S) MLA HD Revanna, father of Prajwal, who is also named in the alleged sex scandal, on Saturday evening.
The SIT arrested Revanna based on a kidnap complaint filed by the son of a woman who used to work as a maid in their house.
Recently, explicit videos allegedly involving Prajwal Revanna have surfaced, prompting the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to delve into the matter. Both Prajwal and HD Revanna face multiple accusations, including a rape allegation against Prajwal.
Nevertheless, the JD(S) MP has countered the claims, asserting that the videos are manipulated and has filed a formal complaint through his polling agent.
A global alert has been issued for Prajwal Revanna at international immigration points. Moreover, it’s anticipated that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) will request an ‘Interpol Blue Corner Notice’ for the Hassan MP.
