Belagavi: Congress directed ten pointed questions towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah regarding the Prajwal Revanna case. This came after Karnataka Police’s Special Investigation Team (SIT) arrested HD Revanna, Prajwal’s father, in connection with sexual assault allegations against Prajwal.

Congress general secretary and party incharge, Randeep Surjewala stated during a press conference attended by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy CM DK Shivakumar in Belagavi, that the Prime Minister and JD(S) were shielding a mass rapist. Surjewala highlighted that evidence was presented to PM Modi and Amit Shah by a BJP leader in December 2023.

The Congress leader then proceeded to pose ten questions to Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Shah:

  •  Why did the BJP  form an alliance with the Janata Dal (Secular)?
  • Why did the Prime Minister personally campaign for the JD(S) candidate?
  • Why was Prajwal, the incumbent representative of the Hassan Lok Sabha seat, nominated again?
  • Why did the BJP-JD(S) coalition conceal information about Prajwal despite being aware of the allegations?
  • Why was Prajwal allowed to leave India?
  • Why have the Prime Minister and Home Minister not responded to the SIT’s request to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Union government to bring Prajwal back to India?
  • Why has Prajwal’s diplomatic passport not been revoked yet?
  • If a “mass rapist” flees the country, who holds the responsibility for his extradition: the state government or the Central government?
  • Why has the CBI not contacted Interpol to issue a blue-corner notice to determine Prajwal’s whereabouts?
  • Why does the Prime Minister seem hesitant to question Prajwal Revanna?
