Bengaluru: A 23-year old accountant committed suicide by hanging herself in her house in Ramamurthy Nagar on Monday night. The police have identified the deceased as Sushma who was from Madhugiri.

The police said the deceased had been working in the K.R. Puram Taluk office-1 for over a year. She lived with her mother in a rented home at Ramamurthy Nagar.

A police officer attached to Ramamurthy Nagar police station said, “Her family alleges that she was harassed by senior officials. We are looking into it.”

A case has been registered under Section 306 (abetment of suicide) of the IPC. “As of now, it is only an allegation. Only after completing the investigation will we know whether she was harassed,” he said.
