Bengaluru: The Aam Aadmi Party Karnataka unit on Thursday demanded the Members of Parliament and Members of Legislative Assembly to exercise their constitutional right and speak to Prime Minister Narendra Modi demanding his intervention in Cauvery water dispute.

Speaking to media persons, Mohan Dasari, Co-convener of Aam Aadmi Party-Karnataka said that the whole state was on fire due to shocking decisions of the Supreme Court but the politicians seem to be unfazed. Mohan Dasari mentioned that all the 28 MPs and 224 MLAs should go to Delhi to meet and speak to the Prime Minister. “Farmers in Karnataka have been facing lots of problems due to drought conditions. The recent Supreme Court judgment will have an adverse impact on farmers in the state,” he said.
Coming down heavily on the BJP leaders for not participating in the all-party meet on Cauvery water issue, he said BJP state president B S Yeddyurappa has shown his contempt towards farmers of Karnataka by not attending the all-party meet. “Actress turned politician Malavika was busy advising her friends and well-wishers in watching Tamil tele-serials instead of supporting farmers of Karnataka,” Mohan said.
Recalling the statements issued by BJP leaders, Mohan Dasari said Thamizhisai Soundararajan, a BJP leader from Tamil Nadu had praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the continuous flow of Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu. “The silence of PM supports Soundararajan’s statement. I want to remind Prime Minister Narendra Modi that he is not the Prime Minister for BJP and its allies but for the whole country,” he added.
