Bengaluru: Aadhar has helped in tracing the antecedents of 3 children including one mentally challenged and are likely to join their families soon.
Aadhar special enrolment campaign began at UIDAI Regional Office where screening of missing and rescued children staying in orphanages was taken up recently. The UIDAI authorities while collecting data at an orphanage near Hosur, soon realised that 3 children had registered their names once before. Among the three, one child is mentally challenged and with the help of local NGOs, UIDAI authorities managed to find their addresses and communicate with the family.
A boy named Narendra, was brought to the orphanage on 21 May 2016. His identity was registered earlier in Indore, Madhya Pradesh and efforts are being made to hand over him to the parents.
It was no different for other two boys named Om Prakash from Jharkhand and Neelakanta from Chittoor. They were brought to the orphanage on 21 May 2016 and February 24, 2014 respectively.
UIDAI authorities are overjoyed with the outcome after their efforts paid off.
