Bengaluru: CCB police arrested 60 illegal Bangla immigrants staying in the city. This operation against the Bangla immigrants comes amidst reports that Karnataka is also trying to implement the NRC.

These 60 immigrants were arrested from Ramamurthynagar, Bellandur, Marathahalli, and surrounding areas. Among the arrested mine are women.

“We will share the information with the Bangla consulate and send them back to Bangladesh with the help of BSF,” informed city police commissioner Bhaskar Rao, who also warned the land owners and labour contractors against bringing Bangla residents illegally to the city and providing them Aadhaar and other ID cards by creating bogus documents.

Detention centre in Nelamangala?

According to the sources, the state government is planning to construct a detention center in Nelamangala to keep the illegal immigrants detained across the state.
