Bengaluru: Following a drunken brawl, a 27-year-old youth was stabbed to death by his friends in RBI Layout in J.P. Nagar on New Year night.

Santosh, from Sakaleshapura in Hassan is the deceased. He was working with a cable operator in the city from the last one-and-a-half years.

Manoj, Deepak and Pavan were arrested on charges of murdering thier friend.

According to police, four of them had organised a New Year party. The party went on till 1.30 and they had consumed alcohol.

Meanwhile, Santosh and Deepak got into a verbal fight over an issue and the accused trio stabbed Santosh in the chest and he died on the spot.

After the incident, the accused called up one of the friends of Santosh and informed him about the incident. The friend rushed to the spot and also informed the police, who arrested the three accused.

A case is registered in Subramanyapura police station in this connection.
