Vijayapura: Describing BJP MLA, Basanagouda Patil Yatnal as a completely incompetent person who is hell-bent to destroy BJP, Former Deputy Mayor and BJP SC Morcha District President Gopal Ghatakamble has said that the party will take suitable action against Yatnal at an appropriate time.

“The party leaders know it very well that Yatnal is unfit and an incompetent MLA. I am confident that the High Command is waiting for the right time to take action against Yatnal who has been openly criticizing party leaders including Former Chief Minister B. S. Yediyurappa”, he said.

Addressing presspersons on Monday August 2, he said that Yatnal has been busy dreaming of becoming Minister and Chief Minister, in that process, he has forgotten about the development of Vijayapura city.

Ghatakamble said that while the civic conditions are turning bad to worse in Vijayapura city, MLA has no time to think about the problems of people.

Taking a jibe at the recent statement of Yatnal that the party high command has chosen an ‘inexperienced’ person such as Basavaraj Bommai for the post of CM of the state, Ghatakamble wondered why the party leaders did not chose Yatnal for the same post if he were so much competent and eligible.

“The party leaders would have called Yatnal and offered him the post of CM of the State if we were able. Since he was not invited, then one can understand easily why he was not considered for the post”, he said.

Claiming that Yatnal has been damaging the party extensively, he said that several party leaders had fervently requested Yediyurappa not to take Yatnal back into BJP and offer a ticket in assembly polls.

But despite several requests, Yediyurappa did not hear and offered a ticket to Yatnal.

“Now, Yediyurappa is facing the consequences of his decision. Yatnal has been openly criticizing him and also other party leaders”, he asserted.

Accusing Yatnal of trying to prevent Corporation polls by asking some of his followers to file legal cases to delay the election, Ghatakamble said that Yatnal does not want election because he wants to mint money for corporation works.

“As long as the City Corporation will have no Corporator, Yatnal will have no one to question him and he will keep making money”, he said.

To a question, he said that his fight against Yatnal will continue and hoped that the party will take right action against him at the suitable time.
