Shivamogga: Kuvempu University has stressed on intellectual development of students by successfully holding online classes, lecture series and webinars, said Prof. B. P. Veerabhadrappa, Vice Chancellor, Kuvempu University.

He was speaking at V.V. Shaikshanika Pragatiya Chintana – Manthana, a programme that discussed educational development in the varsity held at Basava Sabha Bhavana in Jnana Sayhadri campus on Monday August 2. He said that students and teachers are lead actively through online platforms from past one and a half years. An online platform was created to hold successfully graduation ceremony too.Though Corona was an impediment, the education and research activities at the varsity went on well, he added.

He said that research MOUs have been entered into with several foreign universities. This has strengthened the intensity of research activities among lecturers. Research chairs have been set up to study on Akkamahadevi, Dr. Rajkumar and several others. The DRDO has been planning to set up research lab at the varsity, he added. 

Speaking on the occasion, Registrar (Admin) Anuradha. G. Said that for overall development of the varsity an educational and organisational level initiatives have been planned. All should start working towards improving the ranking of the varsity ably lead by Vice Chancellor, she added.  

Registrar (evaluation) Prof. C. M. Thyagaraj too spoke at the programme.
