Vijayapura: ‘BJP will go to polls under leadership of CM Bommai’

Vijayapura: Refuting the speculation of change of Chief Minister in the State, Urban Development Minister Byrathi Basavaraj has said that the party is preparing for the next Assembly election and said that the polls would be fought under the leadership of Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.

Addressing mediapersons at the inauguration of the BJP Office on Thursday December 15, he said that the changing of CM is only media creation as the party has not made any such plans.

“Our Chief Minister is working day and night for the welfare of the people and development of the State. The party and the cabinet ministers are happy with his performance. Therefore the party will go to polls under his leadership,” he said.

With regard to delaying election for Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Vijayapura City Corporation, he said that he has directed the officials concerned not to delay any further and complete the required formalities to elect new Mayor and Deputy Mayor.

Later, addressing the gathering after inaugurating the new office building, he said that the party has inaugurated a total of ten party offices in the State including one in Vijayapura.

He claimed that the people of the State are happy with the performance of the BJP Government and exuded confidence of the party coming to power again in the coming Assembly polls.

“Wherever I am going to attend the party programmes, I am receiving encouraging responses from the public for the BJP Government. They are happy with our administration as we have been working for the people of all castes and communities,” he said.

He appealed to the party workers to start preparing for the coming Assembly election which is scheduled to be held in the next four months.

“Since the party has given good administration, we can go with confidence before the people and seek their support,” he said.

MLA A. S. Patil Nadahalli, Somanagouda Patil Sasanur, District President, R. S. Patil Kuchabal, Former MLA Appu Pattanshetty and other party leaders were present.
