
Vijayapura: Strongly replying to the allegations of Congress MLA, M. B. Patil that Yeshwantraigouda Patil, another Congress MLA has swindled the property of Banthanal Seer’s Matha located in Hadapsar of Pune, in Maharashtra, the latter has announced that he will not only resign from the post of MLA but will also take political retirement if M. B. Patil proves the allegations.
Addressing presspersons on Thursday August 26, he accused M. B. Patil of making baseless allegations against him.
It may be noted that M. B. Patil, during his press conference had alleged that Yeshwantraigouda Patil has resorted to illegal means in the property of the Seer located in Hadapsar area of Pune in Maharashtra.
“He ( M. B. Patil) is making completely baseless allegations against me that I have swindled the property of the Matha. Except that I am one of the followers of Matha, I have nothing to do with Matha. Yet, without having any proof, he has made allegations against me. Let him prove it”, he said.
Yeshwantraigouda asked M. B. Patil not to give false and misleading information to the public. On the claims of M. B. Patil that Yeshwantraigouda Patil had become Zilla Panchayat President because of him in the past, the latter refuted the claim stating that the former has no role at all in his political development.
“I have been in politics since the age of 19. I have inherited the politics from my father who was a staunch Congress follower. I don’t need any support from M. B. Patil,” he said.
Rebutting the allegations that he has been involved in the sand mafia of the Bhima River, Yeshwantraigouda also challenged M. B. Patil to prove it with fact and not make baseless allegations. With regard to Bhimashankar Sugar Factory also, he said that M. B. Patil should prove with facts that he has made any money from the factory.
He alleged M. B. Patil is not only trying to suppress the political activities of those who have helped him in politics, but has also forgotten the sacrifice of those who have helped him in politics.
Defending his statement that the Congress paid heavy price in last assembly polls because of raising Lingayat religion issues, Yeshwantraigouda said that many Congress candidates who lost in the polls, believe that the religious issue caused heavy damage to the party in the elections. Yeshwantraigouda asked M. B. Patil to change his attitude and stop making baseless allegations.
On the occasion, he announced to make it public about how M. B. Patil has taken control over BLDE Institution. To a question, he made it clear that he will stay in the Congress and there is no question of leaving the party.
