Belagavi: Believe it or not, the state, which is reeling under drought and farmer suicides issues has spent a romping Rs 20.11 crore on Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s air travel during his 32-month tenure!
As per the information obtained by RTI activist Bhimappa Gadad, the CM has spent Rs 9 crore on air travel from May 13, 2013 to March 31, 2014, Rs 5.81 crore in 2014-15 and Rs 4.60 crore till Jan 31, 2016.
A total of 15 of the CM’s cabinet ministers have spent Rs 2.27 crore while 17 other members have not provided details of their air travel expenditure. About Rs 33.50 crore has been spent from the government exchequer till now on air travel alone.
He also revealed that the state government has taken huge loans amounting to Rs 39,161 crore in the past 22 months.
