Belagavi: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Sanjay Patil said that the upcoming Karnataka assembly election is not about roads and drinking water but about Hindu-Muslim incidents, thereby sparking a fresh row in the election battle field.
Addressing a gathering in his home town, Patil categorically said, “This election is not about roads, water or any other issue. This election is all about Hindus v/s Muslims, Ram Mandir v/s Babri Masjid.”
Going further he said, “I am Sanjay Patil, I am Hindu, this is a Hindu Rashtra (nation) and we intend to build Ram temple.”
“Opponent Lakshmi Hebbalikar of Congress wants to build Babri Masjid. All those who want Babri Masjid and Tipu Jayanthi are free to vote for Congress and those who want Shivaji Maharaj and Ram Mandir should vote for BJP,” he added.
