Belagavi: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah stated that relocating the offices and a few major departments to the Suvarna Soudha is not possible. Upset at this, Karnataka Nava Nirmana, under the leadership of Rajeev Toppanna, BJP, protested and burnt the CM’s effigy.

The protesters gathered near Sahitya Bhavana and near Channamma Circle. Addressing the gathering, Rajeev Toppanna said, “Siddaramaiah’s not agreeing to relocate the offices of major departments to the Suvarna Soudha, shows his negative attitude towards the development of Northern part of Karnataka”.
“The empty area beside the Suvarna Soudha should be used and construct the building for the offices and other departments” he added.
Police arrived at the spot, arrested the protest leaders and brought the situation under control.
