Dharwad: Dharwad, the education hub of North Karnataka is all set to host a three-day State level children’s conference in Ulavi Chennabasaveshwara temple premises here from Friday.

The event is being organised by Gubbachchi Goodu, a voluntary organisation working to promote literary interest among children.
Organising committee Chairman Shankar Halagatti has said that this literary and cultural meet for children would be held in association with the Karnataka Balavikas Academy and the Basava Dharma Fund.
Writer Na D’Souza will inaugurate the meet at 11 am on Friday. Chairperson of Karnataka Sahitya Academy Malati Pattanashetty will be the president of the meet. Minister in-charge of the district Vinay Kulkarni will be the chief guest.
More than 1,000 children from different parts of the State will exhibit their talents during the three-day convention. Chorus singing, poetry meet, sessions on the changing attitude of children and face-to-face with litterateurs would be held.
Children who have made special achievements in various fields and elders who have contributed for promoting children’s activities will be felicitated on the occasion. Psychiatrists, writers, scientists, teachers and artistes will deliver special lectures during the meet.
