Dharwad:  State BJP President Prahlad Joshi has filed a criminal defamation suit in the Dharwad District Court against SR Hiremath, chief of Samaja Parivartana Samudaya.

It may be recalled here that the list of corrupt politicians of the state released by SR Hiremath prior to the Lok Sabha elections included the name of Joshi too. The defamation suit has been filed under Section 449, 500,501 and 502.

Speaking to reporters after filing the case, Joshi said while releasing the list, Hiremath had said he would also produce evidences for the same, but has not done so. Therefore, the case has been filed, he clarified.

Responding to the development, Hiremath said  everyone has a right to move the court. He further stated that  he would comment on the issue after  looking into the details of the defamation case.
