Dharwad: Members of district BJP held a protest in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office here on Monday, condemning the alleged misbehaviour by district in-charge minister Vinay Kulkarni during a programme in which Central Minister Dharmendra Pradhan had taken part to perform Bhoomi Puja for four-lane road work.
The protesters alleged that the minister being a responsible leader tried take mileage and spoke cheaply over the issue of publicity on road work. “It seems he has lost mental balance and is unable to digest the development works done with Central funds and is claiming the credit. Hence he behaved indecently in the function while speaking against the sitting MLA and his party,” they charged. The protesters demanded minister Kulkarni’s removal from the cabinet while raising slogans against him.
Corporators Vijayanand Shetty, Sanjay Kapatkar among others took part in the protest.
Later, a memorandum was sent to the Speaker urging him to remove minister Kulkarni from his post for his questionable behaviour at a public function.
It may be recalled that minister Vinay Kulkarni had questioned the BJP leaders over taking credit for road works done in city limits, by putting more banners and buntings in his favour for the function.
