All Karnataka children’s convention from Jan 8

Dharwad: The pro-children organisations “Gubbachhi Goodu” and “Chilipili Balaga” based at Dharwad are holding the sixth All Karnataka Children’s Literary and Cultural Convention here from January 6 to 8, 2017.

These organisations which keep conducting various programmes on children’s rights, literature, and nourishment among other issues have already held five such successful conventions at Dharwad, Hubballi, Gadag and Belagavi while trying to give new perspectives to matters of children’s welfare.

Writers Kanchyani Sharanappa, H S Venkateshmurthy, Sham Gu Biradar, B A Sanadi and Na D’Souza have so far chaired these conventions.

Speaking to media, writer Shankar Halagatti said the aim of the convention was to create a concept of “One Karnataka” among children. Around 1000 children from across the state besides Children’s literature authors will take part in the convention.

The Ulavi Channabasaveshwar Temple Trust has handed over the temple premise for the convention. District In-charge Minister will be the Organising Committee Chairman he said.
