Bagalkot:The rescue operations to retrieve six year old Timmanna who had fallen into the open borewell in his father’s sugarcame fields in Sulikeri village in Badami taluk of Bagalkot has ended with the removal of the body from the borewell here during the wee hours of Monday  August 11 at 2am. The body was extricated using casing pipes and with the help of a camera.

Timmanna  was cremated after a medical test. Ministers,officials and family attended Timmanna’s funeral.

The work of filling the acres of land which was dug up since the past eight days has already begun.

Minister H R Patil had said that the trenches dug up on Hanamappa’s land would be filled. They would even be topped with fertile soil to make the land fit for agriculture again. The government would provide a compensation of Rs 5 lakh to the boy’s family for crop loss, the Minister said.
