Belagavi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah has predicted that Rahul Gandhi, who is contesting from Uttar Pradesh’s Rae Bareli seat, will lose by a huge margin against the BJP candidate. Addressing a poll rally in the district for party candidate Anna Saheb Jolle, Shah expressed confidence that Rahul will be defeated by the BJP candidate Dinesh Pratap Singh in Rae Bareli.

He said senior Congress leader Sonia Gandhi’s multiple attempts to “launch” her son Rahul will fail once again, claiming that this was her 21st attempt to launch him. Amit Shah, in a humorous tone, said, “PM Modi tried Chandrayaan and it got launched at once, but Sonia Gandhi is trying to launch this ‘yaan’ named Rahul Baba (Rahul Gandhi) and she has remained unsuccessful. Today, for the 21st time, running away from Amethi, he has filed nomination from Rae Bareli,” said Shah.

Gandhi is contesting the elections from the Rae Bareli seat in Uttar Pradesh, the constituency held by his mother Sonia Gandhi for the last two decades.

Amit Shah also mentioned Neha Hiremath’s murder case in his speech. He said Neha was murdered as she refused to change her religion and urged that her case should be handed over to CBI, so that the society will be able to see what will be the probe means. CBI investigation will be able to deliver justice to her death, he said.
