Rajasthan: When sleeping pills failed to affect his health, a man consumed celphos tablets to die in Karauli. Strangely, the man survived and tried other measures to kill himself.

This time he lay down on a railway track but driver of the train spotted him and applied emergency brakes saving him from dying once again. Not tired of the repeated failed attempts, the man jumped on another track, again, but fortunately, the train moving towards him stopped only a few metres away from where he was lying down.

The train driver informed station superintendent. Later RPF took him to a nearby hospital that referred him to Jaipur’s SMS Hospital.

Police sources said the man called Gopal belonged to Sherpur village of Karauli. He was fed up of his life and was a drunkard. His family life was very disturbed.

Gopal, after getting medical aid in hospital, however, said he consumed selphose tablets by mistake.
