New Delhi: Veteran Congress leader and former member of Rajya Sabha RK Dhavan breathed his last in Delhi at the age of 81 reported news agency ANI on Monday, August 6.

Dhawan was the former personal secretary to the then Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. As India Gandhi’s confidante during the Indian Emergency era, Dhavan attained immense power and influence. He was also a witness to her assassination in 1984.
