Lucknow: Following the unfortunate shooting of Apple executive Vivek Tiwari, colleagues of the UP cop accused in the case, Prashant Chaudhary, are coming out in his support.

Some policemen are running a campaign on social media, trying to build up support for Prashant and his family. Thanks to them, Prashant’s wife Rakhi has been receiving donations from the public. Messages carrying Rakhi’s bank account details were circulated in an effort to raise funds for the family to fight Prashant’s case. Her account, which originally had a balance of Rs 333.2 and interest of Rs 114, holds a total of Rs 5,28,000 as on October 1.

Many of Prashant’s supporters have also been posting messages on Facebook, alleging that he was being targeted and asking people to support the cop.

A man claiming to be with the UP police has, on his profile, posted a message claiming that the accused opened fire on the deceased in self-defence and that the media was treating the case unfairly.

Vivek Tiwari was shot dead early on Saturday, September 29 morning, allegedly because he did not stop his car. Vivek’s colleague, who was with him at the time of the incident, filed an FIR with the police, leading to the arrest of two constables.
