London:A series of important artifacts relating to Tipu Sultan of Mysore and Mahatma Gandhi are set to be auctioned by prestigious British auctioneers Mullocks on November 5th
A rare British school painting of the daughter of Tipu Sultan dated 1837 will be the highlight from the Mysore section.
It is known the sultan had 8 daughters,not much is known about them,however they were along with the Sultan’s family kept under British captivity and heavily anglicized. This would be the first ever portrait of a Daughter of the great Tipu to be sold at auction
A fine portrait of Tipu Sultan dating from the early 19th century is expected to fetch 800 – 1000 GBP along with a fine engraving dates 1793 titled- THE DEPARTURE OF THE SONS OF TIPU SULTAN FROM THE ZENANA is expected to fetch 600 – 800 GBP

Another highlight of the sale is a miniature Koran made for the Indian Muslim soldiers who fought with the allied forces in France in World War one as well as one of Mahatma Gandhis most prized possessions, the ‘charkha’ he used in Yerwada Jail, will go under the hammer at a prestigious British auction house on with the minimum bid set at 60,000 pounds and 60 other items relating to the father of the nation is also kept for auction.
