Hyderabad: A day after the tragic bus mishap, Mahbubnagar police arrested the owner of Jabbar Travels, Shakeel Jabbar, and bus driver Feroze Khan. They have been held under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and Motor Vehicle Act

In the initial interrogation, Feroze Khan said that he had asked for an extra driver, but the owner did not appoint anyone, compelling him to drive hundreds of kilometres alone. “When I repeated my request, he threatened to sack me,” the driver reportedly said.

Bus owner Shakeel Jabbar reportedly told the police that the second driver was sick. Feroze wanted to earn extra money and so agreed to drive the bus for the 600-km journey without a second driver.
