Belagavi: The Department of Public Instruction has issued notices to the managements of three private English medium schools here for not admitting children under the Right to Education Act for the academic year 2015-16.

The schools are G.G. Chitnis English Medium Primary School and M.V. Herwadkar English Medium Primary School in Tilakwadi and Mahila Vidyalaya’s English Medium Primary School on College Road.

The authorities have warned the managements of these three schools of withdrawing their recognition and also lodging criminal cases for not implementing the Act.

According to an official release issued here on Monday, 498 children had obtained admission under the RTE Act in various schools in the Belagavi city through online applications. The second round of online applications would commence after April 15.
