The ACB swiftly conducted an operation and apprehended the official red-handed while receiving the specified amount.
A video depicting K Jaga Jyothi in tears subsequent to her apprehension has gained traction on social media.

K Jaga Jyothi underwent a phenolphthalein test, revealing positive results on her right-hand fingers. Phenolphthalein, a chemical compound, exhibits a pink color upon breakdown, making it a useful tool in identifying bribe recipients. Traces of the solution adhere to the hands when handling marked bills or documents, and the pink color emerges upon contact with a mild base.
The ACB asserted that K Jaga Jyothi conducted herself improperly and dishonestly in the execution of her duties, with the intention of gaining an undue advantage.
Following the arrest, the bribe amount of ₹84,000 was seized from her possession. The executive engineer is presently in custody and is scheduled to appear before a court in Hyderabad.
