New Delhi: The controversy and the allegations of molestation and rape made by a journalist on the chief-editor of Tehelka, Tarun Tejpal has yet taken a different turn after Managing editor of Tehelka, Shoma Chaudhuryhas has put her paper down.

While Tejpal has to appear before the Goa Police by November 28, till 3 pm the victim has already recorded her statement with the police.

On the other hand, reportedly, after several other employees of Tehelka resigned, the managing editor of Tehelka, Shoma Chaudhury has also rendered her resignation. The managing editor wrote a letter to the management of the magazine and the staff announcing her resignation.

According to her letter, Chaudhury had written that she did not want questions raised about her integrity affecting the magazine. The resignation email was sent just before 6 am today and in it Chaudhury said that she believed she had acted in instant outrage and in solidarity with the journalist who had suffered sexual assault.

Moreover she also vindicated her measures after receiving the complaint and said, “Things have been misconstrued and have snowballed exponentially in the media, based on half-facts and selective leaks. I would have liked to continue at Tehelka to see us through this dark time, but I am no longer sure whether my presence is harming or helping Tehelka.”
