JNPT, creates social welfare as a part of CSR

Mumbai: As part of its corporate social responsibility, Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT) launched various projects to cater to different sections of the society such as, senior citizens, youth and students on Wednesday November 27.

Minister of Shipping, GK Vasan, and Minister of State for Shipping, Communications and IT Milind Deora were the chief guests on the occasion.

The port trust has launched a boat cruise which would allow senior citizens to spend quality leisure time. Apart from this, the trust has decided to invite school students to visit the port in order to impart the importance of ports in the economic development of the country.

At Elephanta Island, situated close to the port, the trust plans to construct a part of the protection wall with pathway on the West side of the Island and to provide solar lighting and other associated facilities.
