Chennai: In a tragic incident, a 16-year-old schoolboy, who was trying to take a selfie with the speeding train in Chennai, died on Sunday evening.

The boy who is a student belonging to Poonthamalli, Chennai, was on his way home from Vandalur Zoological Park along with his friends.

He and his friends were walking along the track near Vandaloor railway station around 5 pm.

When he noticed the Chennai Beach – Chengalpattu electric train speeding by, he decided to click a selfie with the train in the background.

But as he went closer towards the tracks, the train hit him.

The Tambaram Railway police on hearing about the incident reached the spot.

The body has been sent for autopsy and an investigation is on.
