New Delhi: Senior leaders and spokespersons of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Ram Madhav and Shiv Prakash on Monday joined the Bharatiya Janatha Party (BJP).  They have been deputed by the RSS to the BJP.

BJP is in the grip of reorganization – after Rajnath Singh, the incumbent president and a few other party office bearers joined the Government.   Amit Shah, Modi’s chief go to aide is likely to be named BJP President and the two RSS leaders are likely to find a prominent place in reorganized BJP.  What their roles would be is difficult to say at this stage.

Sources say Ram Madhav is likely to be one of the new BJP general secretaries in the party- It would suffice to say that their roles would include ensuring that the RSS agenda receives prominence in any policy pronouncements of the Govt..

Prime Minister Modi himself was a full-time RSS ‘pracharak’ (organiser), in the Organization. Madhav said he would “join BJP” and is looking forward to a new role in the party. The RSS Executive Council discussed transfers, postings and deputation of the Sangh workers. It is the highest decision making body of the Sangh.

Assembly elections are due in states like Maharashtra, Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir and Jharkhand later this year and early next year and it would appear that the BJP is gearing up for these elections.

Meanwhile, Congress leader Rashid Alvi said that there is no difference between BJP and RSS. “Everyone knows RSS controls BJP. RSS is the mother organization which takes the decisions,” he said.
