New Delhi: Mr. Ram Jethmalani, who had publicly revolted against the then party president Nitin Gadkari last year has been expelled from BJP for six years for “breach of discipline”.

In a letter in response to the show cause notice, senior BJP leader Ananth Kumar said the partys parliamentary board has taken a unanimous decision on Monday to expel him from primary membership of the party.

Mr.Jethmalani made a strong public opposition against Mr. Gadkari being the party president last November due to allegations of corruption against the latter. This led to some other BJP leaders to speak up against Mr. Gadkari, making him lose a chance to be party president for the unprecedented second time.
