The Dhaka terror attack has given rise to searches on ‘Quran Verses’ on the Google search engine. This look surprising but a lot of blog sites too can be found with questions like, “what kind of prayers should I learn in case terrorists ask me to recite and save my life?”

The Dhaka terror attack survivors told that the killers made hostages recite verses from the Quran, to check who was Muslim and to weed out non-Muslims. A few of them who failed to recite the verses were reportedly killed with their throats slit and if found to be Muslims, they were provided dinner by the attackers.
Terrorists asking hostages to recite Quran’s verse is not taking place for the first time. During the 2013 Al-Qaeda linked attack at Kenya’s Westgate mall, terrorists asked the hostages to recite some key passages of Quran.
Social media is flooded with forwards suggesting that learning a few lines from Quran would be life saving some times. Google search engine has seen a rise in searches for Quran verses.
Today’s world which turns to Google for anything they want to know, wouldn’t mind searching anything to save their lives from terrorists.
